UAE’s Omran Sharaf Discusses AI, Security, and Ethics at UN Conference

Omran Sharaf, who is the Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology in the UAE, took part in the Global Conference on AI, Security, and Ethics. He joined Robin Geiss, the Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), in an important discussion about artificial intelligence (AI) and its effects on global security.

At the conference, experts talked about how AI is growing quickly, how it affects national and global safety, and the challenges that come with new technologies. Omran Sharaf shared some important thoughts during his speech. He pointed out that more and more non-state groups (people or organizations that aren't part of a government) now have access to powerful technologies.
