Dubai recently hosted the Emirates Environmental Group's 29th Annual Corporate Gala Dinner, recognizing the remarkable achievements of 52 organizations in sustainability and environmental strategy. The event drew together diplomats, corporate executives, policymakers, and environmentalists, underscoring the UAE's ongoing dedication to sustainable development.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Salim Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the gala underscored the vital nature of resilience and responsible governance in light of the current regional challenges. Speakers noted that sustainability remains a cornerstone for ensuring long-term stability, economic diversity, and protecting the environment.
Dr. Nawal Al Hosany, the keynote speaker, reiterated the UAE’s position as a leader in global climate action and clean energy solutions. EEG Chairperson Dr. Habiba Al Mar’ashi emphasized that sustainability is no longer optional but a fundamental aspect of governance, economic planning, and social accountability.
In 2025, EEG made remarkable strides, involving over 738,000 students in various programs and successfully diverting 1.7 million kilograms of waste from landfills. The organization also facilitated the planting of over 14,000 trees and mobilized numerous volunteers for environmental initiatives. The event is a testament to the increasing collaboration between public and private sectors to achieve tangible sustainability results.
