In Muscat, the Ministry of Social Development celebrated World Autism Awareness Day 2026 with an engaging initiative aimed at fostering inclusion and empowerment. This notable event was held beneath the auspices of Dr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthi, Undersecretary for Persons with Disabilities’ Affairs.
Carrying the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” the programme showcased an array of workshops and interactive sessions. These activities were meticulously designed to connect children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, recognize their skills, and promote their active engagement in society.
Renowned experts provided vital insights into autism, equipping parents and caregivers with applicable strategies for supporting children dealing with the condition effectively. The initiative also aimed to elevate public awareness and encourage respectful interactions with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Families, students, and those attending specialized centres joined the event, underscoring the essential role of communal support and inclusive progress for individuals with autism across Oman.
