Al Najd Farmers Kick Off Wheat Harvest Season

In Al Najd, wheat farmers are entering the 2025/2026 agricultural season with the commencement of their harvest. This initiative is overseen by the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate.

The region has cultivated approximately 6,408 acres dedicated to wheat across 51 farms, with expectations of reaching nearly 8,000 tons in production this season. This development showcases the steady progression of agricultural results in the area.

To aid the farmers in Al Najd, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is providing them with subsidized wheat seeds and state-of-the-art harvesting equipment at no charge, aiming to enhance efficiency and productivity during the harvest period.

The ministry is also collaborating with Oman Flour Mills Company to facilitate the effective collection and distribution of the wheat produced. Such initiatives underline the government’s dedication to bolstering food security and encouraging local agriculture.
