UAE Foils Missile, Drone Attacks from Iran

The Ministry of Defence UAE confirmed that air defence systems in the United Arab Emirates successfully intercepted multiple missiles and drones launched from Iran amid escalating regional tensions. The interceptions prevented any direct impact on the ground, ensuring the safety of civilians and infrastructure.

Authorities clarified that loud sounds heard across cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain were the result of air defence systems engaging incoming threats rather than explosions on the ground. Officials confirmed that all identified threats were neutralised before causing damage.

Earlier, residents received emergency SMS alerts advising them to seek shelter in secure locations and stay away from windows, doors, and open areas. Later, a nationwide alert reassured the public that the situation was under control and safe, allowing people to resume normal daily activities.

The Ministry of Interior UAE and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority urged residents to follow official channels for updates and adhere strictly to safety guidelines. Authorities emphasised that all defence systems remain fully operational, with continuous monitoring to protect national airspace and maintain public safety amid ongoing regional developments.
