Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has officially opened King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park to mark Bahrain’s 54th National Day on 16 December 2025. The initiative reflects the enduring friendship and strategic ties between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The newly inaugurated park has been thoughtfully designed as a family-friendly and nature-centric destination. It features more than 1,100 mature Ghaf trees, creating a lush green environment that promotes wellness, recreation, and sustainability.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of modern amenities, including elevated walking tracks, scenic trails, a dense tree canopy, a pump track, cycle paths, and a fully air-conditioned walkway extending nearly 700 metres. These facilities make the park accessible and comfortable throughout the year.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said the park stands as a symbol of the deep-rooted bond between the UAE and Bahrain, highlighting the close fraternal relationship between the leadership and the people of both nations.
The park also offers open green lawns, yoga and meditation decks, vibrant children’s play areas, and dedicated fitness zones for senior citizens and People of Determination, ensuring inclusivity for all visitors.
At the centre of the park is a newly built café with a cooled outdoor terrace and an elevated viewing point, offering panoramic views of the forest canopy. In addition, food trucks and water fountains are placed throughout the park to enhance visitor comfort and convenience.
King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Park is set to become a landmark recreational space, celebrating unity, sustainability, and the strong UAE–Bahrain partnership.
