Alexandr Wang was born in 1997 in Los Alamos, New Mexico. From a young age, he was very good at math and computers. He went to the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) but left before finishing to start his own company, Scale AI, in 2016. In 2021, when he was only 24 years old, he became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire.
His company, Scale AI, works with different industries, including the US government and big technology companies like Google, OpenAI, and Meta. In early February 2025, Wang met with top US officials and lawmakers to talk about how China is quickly growing in AI and what that could mean for the world.
At the Paris meeting, people talked about how AI will change safety, jobs, and money in different countries. They also discussed how AI could increase the gap between rich and poor. President Macron said Europe should make it easier for AI companies to grow by improving rules. Prime Minister Modi, who helped lead the event, said AI should be fair for all and not be controlled by just a few powerful countries like the US and China.
