The United Arab Emirates (UAE) joined the 27th meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Cairo. This meeting was held at the Arab League’s headquarters and led by the Sultanate of Oman. The UAE team was headed by His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Al Muaini, who works at the Ministry of Economy. The main aim of this meeting was to bring Arab countries together to make tourism better, stronger, and more attractive to people from around the world.
At the meeting, the UAE said it is very serious about working with other Arab nations to grow tourism. Tourism is very important for the economy because it helps make money and creates jobs. The UAE explained that Arab countries need to work together to solve problems and make new chances for growth. The UAE also said it is important to protect Arab culture and history while helping the countries become closer by sharing traditions through tourism.
The UAE shared its achievements in tourism to show how it is growing as a travel destination. For example, between January and September 2024, hotels in the UAE earned AED 33.5 billion. This is 4% more money compared to the same time last year. The number of people staying in hotels also grew, with the hotel occupancy rate reaching 77.8%, which is one of the best in the world. Hotels in the UAE had 75.5 million guest nights in the first nine months of the year, which is 8% more than the year before.

The UAE also talked about its big plan called the “UAE Tourism Strategy 2031.” This plan wants to make the UAE one of the best places to visit in the whole world. The plan will help bring more tourists to the country and make the tourism industry stronger. It also wants to help the economy by adding AED 450 billion to the country’s income by the year 2031. This plan is part of a bigger idea called “We the UAE 2031,” which focuses on making the country better, more advanced, and more sustainable.
The UAE said that tourism is not just about making money. It is also about saving Arab culture, sharing it with others, and helping people feel proud of their shared traditions. When Arab countries work together, they can attract more tourists and make their culture known to the world.
By taking part in this meeting, the UAE showed that it wants to lead the way in tourism and help the Arab world become a top choice for tourists. The UAE hopes that by sharing its plans and successes, other Arab nations will also work together to make tourism in the region grow and succeed.
