Washington, Nov 13, 2025 — The Trump administration has openly praised Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his unconventional approach to public health, signaling strong support for his ongoing reforms. Kennedy, a polarizing figure known for questioning mainstream medical practices and promoting alternative health measures, received commendation during a “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) summit in Washington.
Vice President JD Vance lauded Kennedy’s readiness to challenge established scientific norms, stating that history often proves experts wrong. “Of all the initiatives your team has worked on, the most important is asking questions that government hasn’t asked in a long time,” Vance remarked during a fireside chat with Kennedy.
Kennedy’s MAHA movement has been described by White House officials as “a critical part of our success in Washington.” Under his leadership, the health department has undertaken sweeping changes, including overhauling vaccine guidelines, reducing staff, and re-evaluating advisory roles. Notably, Kennedy has pushed to phase out artificial dyes in food, wage war on ultra-processed foods, and update national dietary guidelines to address chronic disease at its root.
Critics, however, argue that Kennedy’s disregard for widely accepted scientific consensus is fostering public distrust in mainstream medicine. Progressive health advocacy groups have condemned the closed-door summit as an “ego-stroking symposium” that risks public health. Kennedy and his allies insist their policies are evidence-driven, aiming to find alternative solutions to long-standing health challenges.
The MAHA summit gathered a diverse crowd of Trump officials, biotech entrepreneurs, and wellness influencers, featuring discussions on artificial intelligence in healthcare, reversing aging, and improving food quality. The event followed a similar gathering in Austin, Texas, held by Children’s Health Defense, an organization Kennedy formerly led, which focused on vaccine risks and chronic disease prevention.
MAHA Action, Kennedy’s supportive advocacy group, hailed the event as a “decisive turning point in U.S. health policy,” reflecting decades of efforts to reform national healthcare priorities. “Today marks the culmination of a movement 40 years in the making,” said Tony Lyons, MAHA Action president.
While Kennedy’s methods continue to divide opinion, the White House’s backing signals a significant shift in the U.S. approach to public health, emphasizing innovation, scrutiny of traditional medical practices, and a willingness to engage nontraditional experts.
