Sheikh Mohamed met with the foundation’s team at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, also joined the meeting.
During the meeting, the UAE President was told about the foundation’s goals. The mission reflects his strong support for charity and helping others. The aim is to make people’s lives better and build a stronger future.
Earlier, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, announced the official launch of the foundation. It was started on Zayed Humanitarian Day, which is marked every year on the 19th of Ramadan. This day honors the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s lifelong work in charity.
The foundation will have full control over its legal, financial, and management matters. This freedom will help it carry out its work smoothly. It will work with national groups to promote long-term development plans, especially in the health sector.
The foundation will focus on running humanitarian and development projects. It will also encourage more people to give and help others, both in the UAE and around the world.
On this occasion, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the foundation will help the UAE President achieve his goal of making people and communities stronger. It will offer help to those in need, support growth, and give aid to people hit by crises.
He added that the foundation will run projects that make a real and lasting difference. These plans will help solve social and financial problems, giving steady support to people who need it most.
Sheikh Mansour also said the foundation will continue the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His kindness and desire to help others is still a key value of the UAE’s efforts to support people around the world.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the foundation, saying it shows the UAE’s strong wish to make the world fairer. He said the foundation will encourage new ideas, find better solutions, and build strong partnerships to help communities in need.
He added that the foundation will open a new chapter in the UAE’s mission to bring long-term change and support to the world’s most vulnerable people.
In the next five years, the Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity plans to help over 500 million people in more than 50 countries. These will include nations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The foundation will continue the charitable work already started by Sheikh Mohamed. It will focus on providing better healthcare, supporting economic growth, and bringing stability to struggling areas.
The foundation will also expand the work of Reaching the Last Mile, a project that Sheikh Mohamed has led. This programme focuses on fighting diseases like polio, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases. These health projects will now be part of the new foundation’s larger mission.
The foundation will work under Erth Zayed Philanthropies, which manages the UAE’s main charity programmes. This group will oversee the foundation’s work and make sure its help reaches the people who need it the most.
