In the session, Alkhorayef talked about the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and how successful it has been. He said that the Commission’s success is due to its clear vision, which focuses on planning ahead and working with international companies like Parsons and Bechtel. These partnerships have helped Jubail become a top industrial city.
Alkhorayef also mentioned the big changes in Jubail Industrial City. What was once desert land is now a global industrial hub with modern buildings and good services, like education and healthcare.
The Minister explained that the Royal Commission is helping new industries grow, which supports Saudi Arabia’s goal to diversify its economy. The Commission is also working to make sure the city becomes more independent by privatizing important services like education and healthcare. The goal is to make these sectors financially independent by 2030.
The session looked back at 50 years of experience in managing industrial cities and talked about the challenges and opportunities in creating cities that are both successful and environmentally friendly in the future.
The discussion showed how the Royal Commission’s work can be an example for other countries that want to build successful and sustainable industrial cities. With its focus on planning, partnerships, and growth, Jubail and Yanbu are becoming models for the future.
