A huge explosion happened at Iran's Shahid Rajaee port on Saturday, leaving over 500 people hurt. The blast caused a big fire, and thick smoke could be seen coming from the port area.
Esmaeil Malekizadeh, a port official, said the explosion took place in a part of the Shahid Rajaee port dock, and firefighters are working hard to put out the fire.

Shahid Rajaee is Iran's most important container port, located 1,000 kilometers south of Tehran, the capital. It is also 23 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan province, and near the Strait of Hormuz, a major waterway where a large part of the world's oil passes through.
Mokhtar Salahshour, the head of the Hormozgan Red Crescent Society, said that four rapid response teams were sent to the port immediately after the explosion. Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, the head of the province's crisis management team, confirmed that the explosion happened when several containers blew up.
"We are helping the injured and taking them to nearby hospitals," he said.
The cause of the explosion is still being looked into. The port is an important place for trade in Iran, so this incident has raised concerns about safety. The authorities will work to find out what caused the explosion and prevent anything like this from happening again.
