A man recently faced strong reactions online after he shared his disappointment about Coldplay’s concert in Abu Dhabi. Fans of the band were quick to disagree with his views, and his comments sparked a lively debate on social media.
Coldplay is currently creating excitement among fans worldwide, with their upcoming performances in India eagerly awaited. Clips from their Abu Dhabi concert have gone viral online, showing the band’s trademark energy and charm. But one video, featuring the man’s humorous take on the concert, has grabbed attention for all the wrong reasons.
In the now-viral video, the man compared Coldplay’s concert to performances by famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. He jokingly said, *“Isme Diljit wali baat Nahid hai”* (This doesn’t have the vibe of Diljit). He described the concert as a huge light show, saying, *“Aisa lag raha hai ki light show me aaya hoon”* (It felt like I was at a light show).
Adding to the humor, he claimed that many people in the crowd didn’t know Coldplay’s songs. *“90% ko maalum nahi gaane, ghar par revise karne ki zarurat hai”* (90% don’t know the songs, they need to study them at home), he joked. His advice to the band? Display Karaoke-style lyrics on the big screens to help the audience sing along. *“Mai Coldplay ko ye bolna chahunga ki itne bade screen pr lyrics lagao taaki Karaoke ho sake”* (I’d suggest Coldplay put lyrics on the big screen for a Karaoke experience), he quipped.
While some found his comments funny and relatable, others defended Coldplay, saying their music’s global appeal makes their concerts magical. Fans were quick to criticize the man’s take.
One fan wrote, *“Not everyone is a die-hard fan who knows all the lyrics, but that’s the magic of Coldplay concerts—it’s about the experience.”*
Another commented, *“People like this are why real fans couldn’t get tickets.”*
Someone added, *“Aise logo ko tickets Mili hai batao! Ungrateful behaviour sheee!”* (How do people like this get tickets? Such ungrateful behavior!).
Another user humorously said, *“Bhai agar red tape pasand ho to Nike ke showroom me ghusna nahi chahiye”* (Brother, if you like red tape, don’t enter a Nike showroom).
One fan went further, *“Why did you waste a fan’s spot? You shouldn’t have gone. Tu Diljit ke concert mein hi jaa … Tu wahi deserve karta hai … LANGOOR!”* (You belong at a Diljit concert. That’s what you deserve … APE!).
Interestingly, during the Abu Dhabi concert, Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin gave a nod to Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. Martin spotted a sign in the audience and said, *“Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye,”* which thrilled the crowd. Fans of both Coldplay and Diljit quickly shared this moment online, adding to the buzz.
