Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, in collaboration with the Dubai Media Council, is organizing a special conference called 'Dubai Rising: Building Tomorrow's Global Business Capital' on February 14 at the Museum of the Future.

The conference will bring together top officials, policymakers, business leaders, media professionals, and academic experts from the UAE and the United States. The discussions will focus on Dubai’s vision for shaping the future of global business and ensuring sustainable economic growth. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to strengthen Dubai’s role as a leading business hub.

The Museum of the Future, known for its innovative design and forward-thinking approach, will serve as the perfect venue for this event. Attendees will engage in high-level discussions on Dubai’s ambition to become one of the world’s top three business hubs.

A major highlight of the event will be a keynote speech titled ‘The Blueprint for Sustainable Excellence’ by His Excellency Mohammad Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. He will discuss the key aspects of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double Dubai’s GDP by 2033. His Excellency Mohamed Alabbar, Founder and Chairman of Emaar Properties, will deliver the closing remarks.

Her Excellency Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, said that this partnership with Georgetown University reflects the commitment of the Council to knowledge sharing and collaboration. She added that the event will be a space for global thinkers and experts to generate transformative ideas in line with the vision of the leadership of Dubai. She added that through strategic collaborations with global institutions, Dubai aims to strengthen its position as a center for business, creativity, and technological progress.

Paul Almeida, Dean of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, expressed excitement about the event. He stated that the conference will bring together some of the brightest minds from the UAE, the US, and beyond to discuss the future of global business and economic sustainability. He also acknowledged Dubai’s strong support for Georgetown University since the launch of their Executive MBA program at the DIFC Academy.

Ayesha bin Kalli, project management expert at the Dubai Media Council, said it was part of efforts to keep the ongoing discourse on the business future of Dubai. She added that associating with international institutions will give new ideas and trends that drive progress and opportunities.

In his remarks, Prashant Malaviya, Vice Dean of Programs at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, credited strategic partnerships for the development of business education. He acknowledged and thanked the Prime Minister's Office, the Dubai Media Council, and other key organizations in their efforts to advance education and leadership development in the UAE.

The event will open with welcoming remarks by Paul Almeida and Her Excellency Nehal Badri. This will be followed by an introductory speech from Her Excellency Martina Strong, the US Ambassador to the UAE. The conference will include six discussion panels covering various aspects of Dubai’s economic and business growth.

Key topics include urban development, infrastructure investment, and the future of Dubai’s creative economy. One panel, led by the Dubai Media Council, will discuss how the creative and cultural sectors contribute to economic growth, job creation, and Dubai’s global influence.

Another key discussion will focus on infrastructure investment over the next decade, exploring financing models, sustainable development, and Dubai’s growing role as a financial hub. Business leaders will also discuss how Dubai is navigating global economic shifts, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors to strengthen its position in international markets.

Technology and artificial intelligence will also be major themes at the conference. Experts will discuss how AI, fintech, and digital transformation are reshaping industries like finance, media, logistics, and governance. The discussions will highlight how these advancements are unlocking new opportunities and helping Dubai stay ahead as a global business hub.

The event aims to provide valuable insights into Dubai’s evolving business landscape and how it is positioning itself for long-term success in the global economy.
