Dubai: The Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States (U.S.) Chamber of Commerce, which is designed to strengthen trade relations and bring businesses in Dubai and the U.S. closer together. It aims to further the growth of trade between the two regions and encourage more economic cooperation.
The event was held at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers, while both agreements were signed between Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations, and Steve Lutes, Vice President for the Middle East at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking on the partnership, Salem Al Shamsi observed that "This collaboration is part of our continuous efforts to enhance cooperation with business organizations and communities around the world. Through working together with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, we are well positioned to create more opportunities for American businesses in Dubai whilst helping companies from Dubai explore expansion in the U.S.".
Key Areas of Cooperation
Under the deal, Dubai Chambers will help U.S. Chamber of Commerce members set up businesses or invest in Dubai. The chamber will offer strategic services to ease and accelerate the investment process. In the same way, U.S. Chamber of Commerce will help Dubai business enterprises looking forward to expanding into the American market. It will also assist in business networking and matching companies with potential partners.
The areas include supporting each other to participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and business missions in both countries. Reports and trade information between Dubai and the United States are shared periodically. The agreement further provides for the organization of networking events and investment conferences to connect businesses.
Dubai Chambers remains committed to its long-term goals, which include improving Dubai’s business environment, attracting international investments, and supporting companies that want to expand globally. The chamber is also focused on growing Dubai’s digital economy and ensuring businesses have the right support to thrive.
This agreement marks an important step in strengthening economic ties between Dubai and the U.S., opening new doors for businesses in both regions.
