Dubai Basketball, the newly-established sports franchise, is set to expand its influence both locally and internationally through a strategic partnership with Shabab Al Ahli Club. This collaboration aims to foster mutual growth by exchanging expertise across various facets of basketball. Signed by Majid Sultan bin Sulaiman, CEO of Shabab Al Ahli Club, and Salem bin Dasmal, President of Dubai Basketball, the agreement outlines plans for sharing coaching insights, organizing joint training camps, and utilizing each other's facilities.
At its core, the partnership seeks to elevate basketball's technical standards and popularity among diverse age groups. Notably, Dubai Basketball has gained recognition from the UAE Basketball Association and Dubai Sports Council, with founder Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah spearheading its entry into the prestigious Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) League from the 2024-2025 season onward. This move positions Dubai Basketball on the path towards qualifying for the esteemed EuroLeague, enhancing its stature on the global basketball stage.

Home games for Dubai Basketball will be hosted at the Coca-Cola Arena, accommodating up to 15,000 spectators, while Shabab Al Ahli Club will serve as the venue for team training sessions. Majid Sultan bin Sulaiman highlighted the agreement's potential to bolster Shabab Al Ahli's regional basketball initiatives, building upon their recent success in the 2024 Asian Basketball Championship.
Salem bin Dasmal emphasized the collaborative spirit driving this partnership, aimed at refining player skills and enriching staff expertise within Dubai Basketball. He underscored Dubai's commitment to sports development as integral to community building, public health promotion, and ethical leadership. By joining the ABA League, Dubai Basketball not only aims for competitive success but also aims to cultivate a passionate basketball following across the region.
