Hollywood actor Bella Thorne has come to Priyanka Chopra’s defense following a recent social media backlash over a throwback airport video, in which fans alleged that Priyanka staged a moment for publicity.
The incident resurfaced online when an old video showed Priyanka Chopra exiting an airport, with two fans approaching her for autographs—first at the entrance and again in front of the media within minutes. Social media users questioned the authenticity, suggesting that the repeated interaction was orchestrated by her PR team to generate buzz. The video sparked widespread debate, with many calling it a “fake PR move” and criticizing the perceived media theatrics.
Bella Thorne commented on one of the viral posts, defending Priyanka’s actions. She explained, “No, I don’t think this is a PR stunt. They just follow you everywhere when you’re in the terminal. They also sell those pages online.”
She added further context: “That’s why it’s on a blank piece of paper. They can actually take your signature and Photoshop over whatever they want. Either way, I highly doubt she staged it. She’s just being nice and signing it again because they won’t leave her alone and continue to follow her through the terminal.”
Priyanka Chopra is preparing for a return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Varanasi, co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, scheduled for a Sankranthi 2027 release. She will portray Mandakini, alongside Mahesh Babu as Rudhra and Prithviraj as Kumbha.
Internationally, Priyanka will appear in The Bluff, playing a 19th-century Caribbean pirate, and is working on the second season of the web series Citadel. She was also recently seen in Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, released on Prime Video.
