‘De De Pyaar De 2’ Nears ₹50 Crore as Weekday Growth Holds

Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s latest romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De 2 continues to maintain a steady pace at the box office after its November 14 release. The film, directed by Anshul Sharma, has shown consistent weekday performance and is now inching closer to the ₹50-crore benchmark.

Early industry estimates indicate that the film collected ₹3.50 crore on Day 6 (November 19), taking its total domestic box office earnings to ₹47.75 crore. Its first Wednesday recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 8.84 percent. Night shows drew the highest turnout with 12.37 percent occupancy, followed by evening screenings at 8.76 percent. Afternoon shows registered 8.05 percent, while morning shows posted the lowest footfall at 6.19 percent.

The cast features R Madhavan in a notable role, along with Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey and Gautami Kapoor. The film’s music has been composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jaani, Aditya Dev–Payal Dev, Avvy Sra and Sagar Bhatia, with lyrics written by Kumaar, Sagar Bhatia, Jaani, Karan Aujla and Honey Singh.

Reflecting on his experience working alongside Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan shared that there was no sense of rivalry between them during filming. He explained that Ajay’s focus on the story over individual performance creates a collaborative working atmosphere. Madhavan added that Ajay’s calm and supportive presence made the set comfortable and allowed the cast to perform with confidence.

With its stable weekday hold, De De Pyaar De 2 is expected to surpass the ₹50-crore mark soon. The film’s upcoming weekend performance will determine whether it maintains its current momentum into the next week.
