When Nadeen Ayoub walked onto the Miss Universe stage, she carried more than a gown—she carried generations of Palestinian history. Her ivory dress, adorned with intricate golden-green embroidery, showcased the traditional tatreez craft, an art form passed down through Palestinian women for decades. Every stitch paid homage to her heritage, acting as both a tribute to her ancestors and a statement of resilience and identity.
Her ensemble was rich with symbolism. A shatweh-inspired crown crowned her head, while an olive-tree motif embroidered into her gown represented peace and belonging. A small key delicately attached to her outfit symbolized her deep connection to home. Draped across her shoulders, a hand-painted cape depicted sacred sites like Al-Aqsa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, emphasizing coexistence and dialogue. Reflecting on the ensemble, Ayoub described it as “my heritage, my voice, and my heart.”
At 24, the Dubai-based Ayoub is the first Palestinian contestant in Miss Universe history. Growing up between Palestine, the United States, and Canada, she now divides her time between Ramallah and the UAE. Through her participation, she represents the strength and resilience of Palestinian women and children, carrying a message of visibility and empowerment.
Ayoub’s achievements extend beyond pageantry. She previously competed in Miss Earth 2022, finishing in the top five, and works professionally as a health instructor and psychology educator. She is also the founder of the Olive Green Academy, an initiative that helps Palestinian women establish sustainable, eco-friendly businesses. Through her philanthropic platform Sayidat Falasteen, she highlights the work of women’s organizations making a real impact on the ground.
Unlike many pageant gowns designed solely to impress, Ayoub’s dress was a vehicle for storytelling. The soft ivory fabric, hand-painted icons, and centuries-old embroidery techniques combined to convey a singular message: identity and heritage shine brightest even under the world’s spotlight.
By walking the stage in a gown that carried both history and hope, Nadeen Ayoub demonstrated that Miss Universe is not only about glamour—it is also about the power of culture, voice, and advocacy. Her appearance marked a momentous milestone, celebrating Palestinian tradition while inspiring global recognition for her community.
