Trump Says Skilled Immigrants Needed To Train US Workers In Factories

US President Donald Trump spoke to business leaders on Wednesday and explained why he believes the United States should allow some skilled immigrants to enter the country. The event took place at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, which he attended with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

During his speech, Trump said that the US needs highly trained foreign workers who can help teach American workers advanced skills needed in new high-tech factories. He said that letting in these experts does not go against his political message or the “Make America Great Again” movement.

Trump explained that many modern factories need workers who understand how to build products like computer chips, electronics and complex machinery. He said the country does not currently have enough trained workers and that people need to learn these skills from professionals who already have experience.

He told the audience that skilled immigrants could come to the US, train American workers, and then return to their home countries after the job is done. This idea was met with applause from the business audience.

However, Trump also accepted that many of his strongest supporters did not agree with his statement. He recently had a disagreement on television with a popular news host who said the US already has enough talented workers. Trump disagreed and said that many workers still need training to meet modern industry needs.

His comments received criticism online from some supporters who want the US to limit working visas such as H-1B permits. These critics believe that allowing more foreign workers could reduce opportunities for American workers.

Even after the criticism, Trump stood firm. He said that people who oppose the idea are loyal, patriotic and intelligent, but they may not understand how modern industry operates. He stressed that factories producing advanced technology cannot hire untrained workers and expect them to operate complicated machinery immediately.

Trump also gave an example involving a factory in Georgia, where hundreds of South Korean workers were temporarily removed during an immigration enforcement action. Trump said he personally intervened and told officials not to push them out, because the project needed their expertise and American workers needed the training they were providing.

Trump ended by saying that allowing skilled immigrants for limited periods is necessary if the United States wants to build advanced products, stay competitive, and grow modern industries inside the country.
