Amritsar is in shock as Punjabi actor and renowned bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away due to a sudden heart attack. The 44-year-old had visited Fortis Hospital in Amritsar for a minor bicep surgery and was expected to return home the same day. Tragically, he suffered a cardiac arrest during the procedure.

Ghuman was a well-recognized figure in both the bodybuilding and entertainment worlds. His journey began with a strong focus on fitness and bodybuilding, eventually earning him national and international accolades.

A Legendary Bodybuilding Career

Varinder Ghuman first rose to fame when he won the Mr India title in 2009 and later became the runner-up at Mr Asia, cementing his position as a top bodybuilder from India. His skills and stature caught the attention of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2013, who personally chose Ghuman to represent his products across Asia. He debuted in Punjabi cinema with ‘Kabaddi Once Again’ (2012) and soon entered Bollywood with ‘Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans’ (2014). He continued acting in films such as ‘Marjaavaan’ (2019) and most recently appeared in ‘Tiger 3’ (2023) as Shakeel, a Pakistani prison guard.
