Indian gangster Rao Inderjeet Yadav, who fled to the Middle East following the 2024 murder of a businessman in Rohtak, has been arrested in Dubai, according to sources in the Haryana Police.
Authorities in Dubai have reportedly requested relevant documents related to the accused, and his extradition to India is expected to take place soon. However, Yadav’s lawyer has denied the arrest, claiming that his client has not been detained.
Yadav is facing more than 15 criminal cases registered by police in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The charges against him include extortion, coercive loan settlements, intimidation, fraud, and involvement in violent crimes.
Last year, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiated a money laundering investigation against Yadav in connection with the murder of a businessman. During raids conducted in Delhi and Gurugram, officials recovered multiple luxury vehicles, bank lockers, approximately ₹17 lakh in cash, and several incriminating documents and digital devices.
Investigators also found that Yadav allegedly operated as an enforcer, facilitating coercive settlements between private financiers and corporate entities, often involving large financial disputes.
Yadav first came under scrutiny in December 2024 in connection with the murder of financier Manjeet Dighal, after which he reportedly fled the country. His name has also surfaced in other high-profile incidents, including a firing case at singer Rahul Fazilpuria’s residence and an alleged attack linked to YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s home.
Recently, Yadav denied all allegations from an undisclosed location in Dubai, describing himself as a “victim of a conspiracy” rather than a criminal.
Authorities consider his arrest a significant breakthrough, and further legal proceedings, including extradition, are now awaited.
