The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced its national team’s schedule for the 2025 season. Sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, the team will compete in nine major championships between February and November. These events will take place at regional, continental, and international levels, covering different age categories.
The team’s journey begins with the Asian Youth Championships in Thailand from February 13 to 15. Young athletes in the under-14, under-16, and under-18 categories will compete in this event. Later, the team will travel to Jordan for the 9th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship, scheduled for May 23 to 25. This competition will feature adult and under-21 athletes, and the UAE team will aim to maintain its top position in Asia.
In July, the national team will take part in the JJAU Regional Championship for West Asia, held in Bahrain on the 24th and 25th. This event includes several categories, from under-14 to adult. Another major competition on the calendar is the 3rd Asian Youth Games, taking place from October 22 to 31. This tournament focuses on under-18 athletes.

On the international stage, the UAE team will compete in the Grand Prix Paris Open in France on April 26 and 27. Then, they will head to Thailand for the Grand Prix Thailand Open from June 19 to 21. These Grand Prix events are important for improving the UAE’s global ranking and securing a strong position in the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship.
One of the biggest highlights of the year will be the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, from August 10 to 12. The UAE team will compete in the adult category and hopes to repeat its outstanding performance from the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, where they won five medals, including two golds.
The season will wrap up with two major tournaments. The Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Thailand will take place from November 1 to 15, with competitions for all age groups, from under-14 to senior categories. After that, the team will compete in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia on November 17 and 18.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed his confidence in the team’s abilities. He said, “Our national team will enter these competitions as a strong title contender. We have achieved great success at the continental, international, and global levels, and 2025 will be another milestone in our journey. Thanks to the continuous support from our wise leadership, our athletes have all the resources they need to succeed and maintain top global rankings.”
