Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, received a copy of the credentials of Nkombo Muuka, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the UAE. The ceremony marked the official start of the ambassador’s duties in the UAE.
During the meeting, Alshamsi welcomed Ambassador Muuka and wished him success in performing his diplomatic responsibilities. He stressed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing relations with Zambia across all areas, reflecting the importance the UAE places on its diplomatic ties and partnerships in Africa.
The new Zambian Ambassador praised the UAE’s leading position in the region and on the international stage. He highlighted the UAE’s achievements under the visionary leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noting the country’s growing influence in global diplomacy, economic development, and sustainable initiatives.
The UAE and Zambia have long enjoyed distinguished relations, spanning political, economic, cultural, and development fields. Both nations share a strong desire to strengthen their partnership to serve common interests and support sustainable growth for their populations.
The two countries aim to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, education, renewable energy, and other sectors. The UAE has been an active partner in supporting development initiatives in Zambia, while Zambian authorities are keen to expand trade and investment opportunities in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
