Malaika Arora has become one of the most admired fitness icons in Bollywood. Even in her 50s, she continues to inspire millions with her dedication to health, discipline, and regular exercise. Her social media platforms are filled with videos and posts that motivate people to take their fitness journeys seriously. What makes her workouts interesting is that she never restricts herself to just one type of exercise. From yoga and Pilates to strength training and functional workouts, she enjoys mixing different forms of movement. But yoga remains her favourite, and she often returns to it to build both physical and mental strength.
On November 19, Malaika shared a new video on Instagram showing a powerful twist to the traditional Hatha Yoga Surya Namaskara routine. The exercise she demonstrated included a Warrior Flow variation. In her caption, she wrote that this upgrade brings in more power, more body balance, greater mobility, and “a lot of heat.” The routine aims to intensify the regular Surya Namaskar and make it more engaging for people who feel bored by repeating the same steps every day.
In the video, Malaika moves through the poses with strong control, encouraging her followers to avoid rushing and instead focus on stability and smooth movement. She suggests performing 12 to 24 rounds of this routine daily to notice visible improvements in strength, endurance, and body awareness. Her approach reflects the yoga principle of combining calm breathing with controlled movement to build inner focus and physical power at the same time.
Surya Namaskara, also known as Sun Salutation, is one of the most popular yoga sequences practiced worldwide. It combines forward bends, back stretches, stretches of the arms and legs, and coordinated breathing. Studies have shown that regular practice can reduce stress, support emotional balance, and improve mental clarity. According to research published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health in 2023, yoga-based routines like Surya Namaskara can help manage stress, anxiety, and depression. This makes the routine useful not only for body strength but also for emotional well-being.
Malaika’s upgraded version comes as a useful routine for those who want a stronger flow that pushes the body a little more. The Warrior poses included in her variation build strength in the legs, arms, and core. They can also help improve posture, stability, and balance. The fast movement between poses generates heat in the muscles, increasing blood flow and boosting flexibility over time. For people who practice yoga in the morning, this style can create an energetic start to the day.
Outside of her fitness journey, Malaika continues to remain active in the entertainment industry. She recently appeared in the song “Poison Baby” from the film Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. The track features her entering the stage with confidence, showcasing dance skills she is well known for. She also serves as a judge on the reality television show India’s Got Talent, appearing alongside Shaan and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Malaika’s latest yoga video is a reminder that fitness can be both simple and powerful. A routine does not need to be complicated to produce results. With small changes, a regular exercise pattern can become exciting again. Anyone who follows her advice can benefit from better strength, balance, and body control. For many of her viewers, the message is clear: fitness is a long journey, and every round of Surya Namaskara counts.
