Abu Dhabi, UAE – October 10, 2025:
The UAE Gender Balance Council held its second meeting of 2025 at the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), bringing together senior representatives from federal entities to evaluate national progress in embedding gender balance across all sectors.
Chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the meeting focused on reviewing key initiatives, setting future priorities, and aligning national efforts to further strengthen the UAE’s global leadership in gender equality.
Strengthening National Integration
The session underscored the UAE’s unified approach toward gender balance, with all member entities presenting updates on their ongoing programs. The Ministry of Economy shared new data on women’s growing contribution to the national economy, while the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation highlighted recent steps to enhance workplace flexibility and promote equal opportunities.

The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood also reported progress in supporting mothers and advancing child protection initiatives, reinforcing the country’s commitment to social welfare and family empowerment.
A Unified Vision for Equality
Under the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, the Council reaffirmed that advancing gender balance is a shared national responsibility. Discussions emphasized that effective collaboration among government institutions is key to ensuring measurable outcomes and sustained progress.
Members also reviewed upcoming projects following the UAE Cabinet’s approval of the Council’s new structure earlier this year, which is expected to further strengthen coordination and expand the Council’s strategic partnerships.
Towards a More Inclusive Future
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all federal entities to accelerate gender balance efforts through innovation, policy alignment, and data-driven decision-making.
By continuing to integrate gender perspectives into national strategies, the UAE aims to set new benchmarks for inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable growth—solidifying its position among the world’s most progressive nations.
