Actor Tara Sutaria, known for films like Student of the Year 2, Tadap, and Apurva, celebrated her 30th birthday on Wednesday, November 19. While fans and friends shared their wishes, conversations online once again turned to her simple skincare routine, which she first spoke about in a 2019 interview with Vogue. Unlike many celebrities who rely on expensive products, Tara prefers clean and basic formulas that have been used in Indian homes for generations.

During the interview, she revealed that one of her favorite beauty steps is a homemade face mask passed down from her grandmother. This mask uses only four simple ingredients – yogurt, chickpea flour (also known as gram flour), turmeric, and honey. Tara shared that she applies the mask for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off. She said the results are visible almost immediately, giving her skin a brighter and fresher look with very little effort.

Tara also explained that her daily skincare routine is simple. She likes to focus on hydration and basic care, which includes cleansing the face, applying toner, and finishing with a good moisturiser. While she has heard of treatments like PRP or vampire facials, she mentioned that she had never tried them and preferred natural routines instead.

Each ingredient in her grandmother’s mask plays a useful role. Gram flour has been used for skincare in Indian homes for many decades. It provides a gentle scrubbing effect because of its slightly rough texture, helping remove dull skin and dirt without harsh chemicals. It also contains proteins that help keep the skin firm and smooth.

Yogurt adds natural lactic acid, which works as a soft exfoliator. It helps the skin retain moisture and supports elasticity, especially around the cheeks and chin. Many people who use yogurt-based masks find their skin looks softer and more hydrated afterward.

Turmeric, a well-known ingredient in Indian kitchens, adds anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Its active compound, curcumin, is linked to helping improve uneven skin tone, acne marks, and general irritation. It has also been studied for helping the skin heal faster and supporting collagen formation.

Honey brings moisture and acts as a natural barrier for the skin. It helps the face stay hydrated and calm, especially for people who experience acne or redness. Because of its antibacterial properties, honey is often used in masks for soothing breakouts.

To use this traditional DIY mask, the ingredients are mixed together until they form a smooth paste. The paste is then spread evenly on the face and left to sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. Most people wash it off with lukewarm water. Many use the mask two or three times a week for best results.

Fans continue to appreciate Tara Sutaria’s honest approach to beauty. She does not rely on luxury products or complicated routines. Instead, she believes in basic, clean, and natural skincare. Her homemade mask, shared years ago, still attracts attention because it is easy to prepare, affordable, and made from simple ingredients that are available in most households. Even after many years in the public eye, Tara’s focus on healthy skin through simple habits remains relatable and inspiring, especially for young audiences.
