Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, and Chairman of the Federal Demographic Structure Council (FDSC), chaired a key council meeting in Abu Dhabi to review progress on the National Population Framework 2031.
The meeting focused on assessing recent updates and outlining priorities for the next phase, aimed at building a more balanced, flexible, and efficient demographic system across the UAE. These efforts align with the national vision set by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to ensure sustainable population growth and long-term national development.
During the session, Sheikh Saif emphasised the importance of advancing policies and initiatives that promote population sustainability. He highlighted that these efforts are closely aligned with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, a comprehensive national strategy launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The council reviewed key performance indicators across various sectors and stressed the need for adaptive and flexible policies capable of responding to rapid demographic and economic changes. Officials underlined the importance of maintaining long-term demographic balance while supporting the country’s growth ambitions.
Among the key priorities discussed were increasing the participation of UAE citizens in critical economic sectors, enhancing workforce productivity, and effectively leveraging the nation’s diverse population to drive future development.
Council members also examined implementation plans prepared by strategic partners, which include integrated projects designed to accelerate progress and achieve national goals efficiently under the framework’s core pillars.
The meeting concluded with appreciation for the UAE’s unique demographic composition, which reflects strong values of coexistence, tolerance, and cultural diversity—principles that continue to shape the nation’s progress under its leadership.
