His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, recently reviewed the achievements of the Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program. He expressed deep appreciation for its powerful impact on Emirati families, especially the youth. This program has become one of Dubai's most meaningful social initiatives, offering emotional, financial, and educational support to young couples as they begin their family journey.

A Vision Focused on People and Family Stability

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the development of Dubai has always placed people and families at the heart of progress. He emphasized the government's strong commitment to supporting young Emiratis in building their futures. According to him, stable families form the base of a strong and successful society.

He stated: “We are committed to giving young people all the support they need to start a happy family life—whether it’s housing, money, jobs, or social care. Families are the future of our country, and we will keep working to give them a healthy, strong, and happy environment.”

This approach is in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, a long-term vision focused on improving the lives of people across the emirate.

About the Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program

The Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program was launched in September 2023 by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai. It was designed to empower Emirati families and bring more social stability by offering a wide range of services and support.

The program offers:

  • Psychological and emotional support

  • Financial education and literacy

  • Help with marriage costs and housing

  • Awareness courses and training for couples

  • Discounts on medical and wedding-related services

  • Post-maternity work flexibility for women

Its goal is to help couples start a strong and successful married life by giving them the tools they need to understand each other, manage money wisely, and build a comfortable home.

Record Number of Weddings in 2025

One of the biggest highlights of the program is the Dubai Weddings initiative, which has seen great success. In 2025, participation in this initiative increased by 218% compared to 2024.

More than 700 weddings were held through this program in CDA-approved venues, with full cost coverage. These weddings made up 27.7% of all marriages in Dubai that year.

This shows how important the program has become for young Emiratis looking to get married without financial stress.

Courses That Prepare Couples for Marriage

The Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program offers several educational sessions to help couples understand marriage better and to ensure long-term relationship success. Some of the important courses include:

  • Start It Right: A course that teaches couples about their rights, responsibilities, and how to understand each other better.

  • Family Financial Culture – Dubai: This course explains how to manage money, create budgets, and plan for the future.

  • How to Build Your Home: A guide for making smart and affordable housing decisions when starting a family.

These sessions help the couple prepare mentally, emotionally, and financially for the new life they are stepping into.

Benefits That Go Beyond Education

While learning is a big part of the program, it also offers real-life benefits to help young couples with daily needs. These include:

  • Full coverage of wedding expenses

  • Priority access to ready-to-move-in housing with easy instalment plans

  • Discounts on medical services, jewellery, magazines, and travel

  • A loyalty card through the Esaad programme for community discounts

  • Work-from-home option for newlywed women after maternity leave

These benefits make it easier for young families to begin their journey without unnecessary stress or financial burden.

Who Is Benefiting the Most?

Data from the program shows that most of the beneficiaries are:

  • Men aged 26 to 30 years

  • Women aged 20 to 25 years

In addition, the satisfaction rate among beneficiaries is 95%, showing that the initiative is making a strong and positive difference in people’s lives.

Words of Praise from Sheikh Hamdan

Sheikh Hamdan praised the youth who are taking part in this initiative. He said they are setting a good example for future generations. These young people are starting their family lives with responsibility, knowledge, and a clear sense of direction.

He added: “We admire the willpower and dedication of our youth. Their decision to begin their married lives with awareness and planning shows the kind of generation we are raising—one that is ready to build the future with strength and vision.”

Remarks from the Community Development Authority

Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, also shared her views. She said that the Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program is a true example of how the government values families. According to her, the home is the first place where positive change begins.

She mentioned: “We are not just seeing numbers. We are seeing real stories of love, care, and strong beginnings. The achievements of this program are something we are all proud of.”

She also pointed out that the program supports families from the very first stage—raising awareness, offering financial help, providing housing, and more. All of this is part of Dubai’s bigger plan to become the best place to live, work, and start a family.

A Tribute to Sheikha Hind

Her Excellency also thanked Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for her kind and generous support of the initiative.

She said: “The Dubai Weddings initiative is more than just financial help—it is filled with care and love. Thanks to Sheikha Hind, many young couples have started their families with strength and hope.”

She assured that the CDA will continue to improve the program through strong partnerships, making it a leading model for family support and sustainable development.

The Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Family Program is much more than a social project—it is a real movement for positive change. By focusing on families, supporting marriages, and giving young people the right tools and guidance, this program is helping to build a stronger Dubai.

Under the wise leadership of Sheikh Hamdan and with the ongoing support of Sheikha Hind, Dubai is setting an example for how cities can create an environment where family life thrives, and the youth are empowered to shape a future full of promise and possibility.
