Salem bin Abdulrahman Attends Launch of 10th Sharjah Cycling Tour

Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, attended the start of the 10th Sharjah International Cycling Tour on Friday. The event began with the UAE national anthem and a show from the Sharjah Marine Sports Club. After that, Sheikh Salem gave the signal to start the race.

The Sharjah International Cycling Tour has five stages. These include a race for young people, a special race for people with disabilities, and a professional race. The event will last until Tuesday, January 28. There are 174 cyclists from 23 countries, including teams from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Thailand, China, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritius, and Rwanda.

The first stage was called "Excellence and Creativity." It started at Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah and ended at the Hanging Gardens in Kalba City. The race covered 132.91 kilometers.

The next stages of the race are:

- **Second Stage: "Central Region"** – On Saturday, January 25, cyclists will race 127 km from the wheat farm in Mleiha to the University of Dhaid.

- **Third Stage: "Science and Culture"** – On Sunday, January 26, there will be a race for people with disabilities and a youth race. This 11.16 km race will start and end at the American University of Sharjah.

- **Fourth Stage: "Eastern Region"** – On Monday, January 27, cyclists will race 132.32 km from Al Hefaiyah Lake in Kalba to the Suhub Rest Area in Khorfakkan.

- **Fifth and Final Stage: "Past and Future"** – On Tuesday, January 28, the final race will cover 121.87 km from the Heritage Village in Al Hamriyah to the Aljada area in Sharjah.

The Sharjah International Cycling Tour features many teams from around the world:

This event is not only a big sports competition but also a way to show off the beautiful culture and nature of Sharjah. As the cyclists race, they will pass by famous places in Sharjah, giving people a chance to see the beauty of the city. There will also be fun activities, like competitions and prize presentations, at the start and end of each race to keep people entertained.
