Red Bull's Formula One team principal, Christian Horner, is currently under investigation following allegations of "inappropriate behavior." The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that a fellow team member made the accusation against Horner, who has led the Red Bull team since 2005 and played a crucial role in securing seven drivers' world championships and six constructors' titles.
The reported accusation emerged amid Red Bull's successful 2023 season, where they dominated by winning 21 out of 22 races, with driver Max Verstappen securing his third consecutive world championship. The 50-year-old Horner vehemently denies the allegations, stating, "I completely deny these claims" in response to questions posed by De Telegraaf.
The Austrian energy drinks company, Red Bull, which owns the F1 team, issued a statement acknowledging the seriousness of the matter. They confirmed launching an independent investigation conducted by an external specialist barrister. The company emphasized its commitment to addressing the issue promptly, refraining from further comments until the investigation is completed.
Christian Horner, known for his marriage to pop singer Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls in 2015, is expected to cooperate with the investigation. Red Bull is scheduled to unveil their latest car on February 15, gearing up for the upcoming F1 season set to kick off in Bahrain on March 2. The outcome of the investigation will likely have significant implications for Horner and the Red Bull Racing team.
