The Miami Heat claimed an important 110-96 home victory against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. Norman Powell was the star of the game, scoring 25 points, while Bam Adebayo returned from injury and added 20 points to help Miami finish strong. The win came at a time when the Warriors were dealing with a long road trip, injuries, and missing several key players.
Golden State entered the game at the end of a six-game trip and were without some of their most important names. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Al Horford, Jonathan Kuminga, and Jimmy Butler III were all unavailable due to injuries. Despite this, the Warriors showed great effort and managed to fight back after a poor start.
Miami opened the game with a big 20-4 lead, taking full advantage of the Warriors’ tired lineup. But Golden State slowly worked their way back and eventually took a 74-69 lead late in the third quarter. This impressive comeback showed the depth and resilience of the Warriors, even though they had limited player options.
Just when the Warriors seemed to take control, Miami responded quickly. The Heat scored the last three points of the third quarter and the first seven points of the fourth, creating a 10-0 run that shifted the game completely. Ketel Ware contributed two important baskets during this run. After gaining a 79-74 lead, Miami never lost momentum again.
In the fourth quarter, Miami exploded with 38 points after only managing 43 across the middle two quarters. Their strong finish showed how well they handled pressure and used their home-court advantage.
On a night when both teams struggled to shoot well, Norman Powell stood out. He made 10 of his 14 shots, showing confidence and accuracy. His 25 points were the highest of any player in the game. Powell’s performance gave Miami the spark they needed to push through in the final period.
Bam Adebayo returned to the starting lineup after missing six games due to a sprained big toe. He played 29 minutes and delivered a well-rounded performance with 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal. His presence helped Miami control the paint and strengthen their defense.
Miami finished the night shooting 40.6%, not a high percentage, but they made up for it with their inside play. The Heat grabbed 14 offensive rebounds, which led to 48 points in the paint. Ketel Ware was especially strong on the boards with 16 total rebounds, including four on the offensive end.
Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points for Miami, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 12 points and led the team with seven assists. Pelle Larsson and Simone Fontecchio added 10 points each, helping the Heat maintain balance in scoring.
Even though they lost, several lesser-used Warriors players delivered season and career-best performances. Brandin Podziemski led the Warriors with 20 points, while Quinten Post added 19 and Buddy Hield scored 18.
Pat Spencer had one of the most impressive stat lines of the night, finishing with a career-high 13 assists, along with 11 points and eight rebounds. Trayce Jackson-Davis also contributed with eight points and a season-best 11 rebounds.
However, Golden State struggled badly with shooting. They made only 36.2% of their shots and without Curry, they missed 36 of their 49 three-point attempts, which heavily affected their scoring.
The victory helped the Heat continue their strong home performance this season. For the Warriors, the loss ended a challenging road trip with a 3-3 record. Despite missing major players, the Warriors showed fight, but Miami’s strong fourth quarter proved too much for them to handle.
