Sam Altman, the boss of OpenAI, shared something surprising. He said that his child will never be smarter than AI. Altman talked about this in a podcast. He thinks that in the future, AI will be much smarter than humans, and people will get used to it.

He explained that AI will be able to do things humans can’t do. "Of course, it’s smarter than us. Of course, it can do things we can’t," Altman said. But he doesn’t think it will be a big deal. He believes this will just feel normal in the future.

Altman, who is soon going to be a father, also thought about what his child will need to learn to do well in the world with AI. He said being very smart won’t be as important. Instead of just being smart, knowing how to ask the right questions will matter more. "There will be abilities we still care about, but it will not just be being really smart," Altman explained.

Altman also shared his thoughts on how people will use AI. He said the way we use AI now will change in the future. People will need to think more deeply when working with AI. The tricks that worked in 2023 won’t be enough anymore.

Adam Grant, the host of the podcast, said that connecting ideas will be more important than just knowing facts. Altman agreed. He also mentioned that at first, schools didn’t want to use tools like Google, but later, they saw how helpful it was. "I think AI will be the same way," Altman said.

Altman also talked about AI in chess. At first, AI couldn’t beat humans, but over time it got better. But Altman said the best results happen when humans and AI work together. "In the end, AI and humans working together in chess beat a team of AI," he said.

Altman believes AI will change the way the world works and the jobs people do. While some people worry that AI will take away jobs, Altman is hopeful. "We always find new jobs, even though we think new technology will take all of them away," he said.

Altman also announced that OpenAI has finished creating a new model called ‘o3 mini.’ This model will be able to do harder tasks like solving problems in science, math, and coding. The ‘o3 mini’ will compete with other AI systems, like the ones from Google.

Altman’s views show that while AI will keep growing, people will still be important in finding new ways to work with it.
