Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans has successfully raised AED 3.3 billion during the holy month of Ramadan.
Launched by Awqaf Abu Dhabi at the beginning of Ramadan, the initiative aims to create a sustainable funding system to support orphans across the UAE. The fund focuses on improving their education, healthcare, and overall quality of life, while strengthening social unity.
A major highlight of the campaign is the AED 1 billion Mother of the Nation City project, developed in partnership with Eagle Hills. The project honors Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, with its returns dedicated to supporting orphan welfare.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the strong participation from individuals and institutions, calling the achievement a reflection of the UAE’s deep-rooted values of generosity, unity, and social responsibility. He also emphasized the importance of sustainable endowments in ensuring long-term humanitarian impact.
The initiative received major contributions from leading organizations and business figures. Notable donations include:
AED 150 million from Yusuffali M.A.
AED 150 million from Emirates Red Crescent
AED 100 million each from key entities like Erth Zayed Philanthropies, Mubadala Investment Company, Aldar Properties, and Binghatti Holding
Additional partnerships include development projects worth hundreds of millions of dirhams with various groups, further strengthening the initiative’s long-term impact.
According to Awqaf Abu Dhabi, the campaign saw strong community engagement, with contributions from institutions, business leaders, and individuals across the country. This reflects the UAE’s vision of building a balanced and sustainable society through collective responsibility.
The initiative also supports the goals of the Year of the Family, promoting family stability and care for vulnerable groups. It transforms donations into long-term investment assets, ensuring continuous support for future generations.
Officials highlighted that the success of this campaign follows the humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose vision made philanthropy a core value of the nation.
The UAE continues to set an example in humanitarian work by combining public and private sector efforts to create lasting social impact and a better future for orphans.
