MPDA Receives Singaporean Hikvision Delegation to Discuss AI Best Practices

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) recently hosted a delegation from Hikvision, a prominent client from Singapore, to explore leading global practices in vital sectors. This visit aimed to foster collaboration and share knowledge on advancements in artificial intelligence and smart technologies.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by key officials from the MPDA, including Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector; Dr. Eng. Mohammad Ahmad bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector; and Yousef Mohammad Al Shaiba, Advisor for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence. Other notable attendees included Hind Al Shamsi, Director of the Smart Services Development Department, and Humaid Al Falasi, Director of the Paid Parking Department. They were joined by teams responsible for integrating AI and modern technologies into various operational sectors.

Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani outlined the significant progress the MPDA has made in its smart transformation journey. He emphasized the department’s commitment to developing a comprehensive and integrated plan that shifts services from traditional models to smart, customer-friendly formats accessible anytime and anywhere. Dr. Eng. Mohammad Ahmad bin Omair Al Muhairi highlighted the effective use of artificial intelligence in improving infrastructure, particularly in monitoring and maintaining roads and public facilities. He noted that these advancements have greatly increased operational efficiency and service quality, addressing community needs and enhancing the overall quality of life in Ajman. Hind Al Shamsi elaborated on the MPDA’s innovative smart parking system, detailing its transformation goals to convert traditional parking facilities into smart solutions. Al Shamsi explained that the MPDA has implemented fixed and mobile smart cameras in paid parking areas across the emirate to optimize space management. This approach allows for efficient parking operations, with transactions completed in mere seconds through automated systems.
