Hamdan bin Mohammed Leads Record-Breaking Dubai Run Event

Dubai made history as 278,000 people joined the Dubai Run 2024, making it the biggest fun run in the world. The event, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. This year had 23% more people joined compared to last year.
Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai became huge running tracks. People of all ages and fitness levels came together to run. Families and friends enjoyed the event, which was full of fun and energy.

The day started with a big show. Lights, music, and fireworks made the morning exciting. A parade of Dubai Police’s supercars led the way. Runners then started on two routes—a 10 km route and a 5 km route. Famous singer Jason Derulo surprised everyone by joining. He talked to the crowd and even ran with them, making everyone happy.

The 10 km route passed through famous places like DIFC and Sheikh Zayed Road. The 5 km route went through Downtown Dubai, past Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera. Along the way, there was live music, dancing, and drumming. Even kids had fun with mascots like Modesh, Dana, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sheikh Hamdan said, “Dubai Run shows how strong our community is. It shows that people in Dubai care about being healthy and fit. Together, we can do amazing things.”

The event was a big success, bringing joy to many people. Saeed Hareb, from the Dubai Sports Council, said, “Dubai Run is for everyone, no matter their age or fitness. It helps us live healthier lives.”
Ahmed Al Khaja, from Dubai Festivals and Retail, said, “This run is about more than fitness. It’s about coming together as a community. The huge number of runners shows how much this event means to Dubai.”
The Dubai Run is part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, started by Sheikh Hamdan in 2017. It aims to make Dubai the world’s most active city and the best place to live and visit.
The event brought smiles to everyone. Dubai Run 2024 was not just a run—it was a day of fun, health, and togetherness.
