Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, has created history at the box office by crossing the ₹100 crore mark on its opening day. The film earned approximately ₹102.55 crore in India, making it one of the biggest Hindi film openings ever.
Despite facing delays and cancellations of several regional shows due to technical issues, the film managed to maintain strong momentum across the country.
Box Office Breakdown:
According to trade reports, the Hindi version contributed the highest with ₹99.10 crore. Other language collections include:
Telugu: ₹2.12 crore
Tamil: ₹1.16 crore (from 958 shows)
Kannada: ₹0.8 crore
Malayalam: ₹0.9 crore
Kannada and Malayalam shows could not run paid previews due to content availability issues, affecting their collections slightly.
Comparison with First Part:
The first film, Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, had opened at ₹27 crore. With this, the sequel has earned nearly four times more on its first day.
Comparison with Other Blockbusters:
Dhurandhar 2 has outperformed recent major Hindi releases like:
Animal (₹63 crore opening) starring Ranbir Kapoor
Jawan (₹65 crore opening) starring Shah Rukh Khan
This clearly puts Dhurandhar 2 ahead by a big margin.
Paid Preview Collection:
The film had already generated strong buzz with paid previews on 18 December, collecting around ₹43 crore from 12,735 shows, even with some cancellations.
Director Aditya Dhar apologized for the delays, stating that technical issues affected show timings, especially in regional languages.
Dhurandhar 2 is a sequel to the 2025 blockbuster and continues the story with high action and drama. The film features returning cast members including Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.
The film has received attention for its scale, performances, and storyline, with audiences turning up in large numbers across India.
