Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has just opened its new Business Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport (DXB), located in Terminal 2. The opening ceremony was attended by several important figures, including Hamad Obaidalla, the Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, and key officials from the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), as well as representatives from Dubai Airports. These guests were there to officially open the new lounge and celebrate its first day of operation.
The lounge is large, covering 900 square meters, and can accommodate more than 200 passengers. It is located in the Terminal 2 Departure area, right after passengers clear passport control and security. Inside the lounge, Business Class passengers will find a comfortable place to relax, with various seating areas, including dining spaces, lounging areas, and even a quiet zone for those who want some peace and privacy. The lounge also has a glass facade that offers great views of the tarmac and allows natural light to flow in, making the space bright and welcoming.
Hamad Obaidalla, the Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said that the opening of this new lounge was part of the airline's ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience. He explained that flydubai is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and the company is dedicated to constantly evolving and investing in both its in-flight and ground services. Obaidalla also thanked the airport authorities for their support in bringing the new lounge to life and offering passengers a comfortable place to wait for their flights.
Inside the lounge, passengers can enjoy a variety of dining options. There is an internationally inspired buffet as well as an à la carte menu. The lounge also offers other useful amenities, such as shower facilities, a prayer room, complimentary Wi-Fi, workstations, and multiple charging stations for devices.
Mohamed Hassan, the Senior Vice President of Airport Services & Cargo at flydubai, said that lounges are a crucial part of the travel experience, and the new Business Class Lounge at Terminal 2 is designed to provide added convenience for passengers. Whether passengers are travelling for business or leisure, the lounge and boarding gate offer a more personalized and smooth experience. Hassan also mentioned that flydubai is excited to welcome passengers, especially during the busy holiday travel season.
Additionally, members of Emirates Skywards, the loyalty program of Emirates Airlines, can also enjoy certain benefits when using the new lounge, depending on their membership tier.
This new lounge follows another recent addition from flydubai. In October, the airline opened a new Business Class check-in area at Terminal 2, which offers passengers a smooth and efficient check-in process. This area includes a Meet and Assist service, where staff help with check-in, and a Fast Track service that allows passengers to get through passport control and security more quickly.
With these new services, flydubai is clearly focused on improving the experience for its Business Class passengers, offering them a more comfortable and convenient way to travel through Dubai International Airport.
