MGX, an investment fund from the UAE that focuses on artificial intelligence and advanced technology, has teamed up with Bpifrance, the French national investment bank, along with Mistral AI, a leader in generative AI, and NVIDIA, a world leader in AI computing, to create Europe’s largest AI Campus. This new campus will be located near Paris and is planned to have a very large capacity of 1.4 gigawatts. This announcement was made during the Choose France Summit in Versailles.
This important project is part of a bigger plan to strengthen AI cooperation between the UAE and France. This plan was supported by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron during the AI Action Summit earlier in February 2025. The AI Campus will be built in one of Europe’s strongest economic areas and aims to create AI technology that is strong, reliable, and competitive worldwide.

The signing of the joint venture was witnessed by Mr. Eric Lombard, the French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, and His Excellency Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who is the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and part of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council.
The goal of this project is to build Europe’s first AI center designed for the full AI process. This means it will support everything from training AI models to using them in real life, including generative AI and other AI systems. The campus will be placed near important French research and innovation centers. It will have the latest computer technology, special areas for testing new ideas, and places where real AI applications can be developed.
This campus will offer very powerful computing called exascale computing, use secure cloud services, and have large, energy-efficient data centers designed for AI. It will help many industries adopt AI on a large scale, including healthcare, transportation, energy, finance, and manufacturing. It will also help Europe become more independent and strong in digital technology and climate efforts.
Ahmed Yahia, the CEO of MGX, said that France has the goal and the ability to lead in the new age of AI. He believes that AI is the most powerful change happening today and that building open and lasting AI infrastructure is the key to making a big positive impact on society. He added that the AI Campus will speed up discoveries in science, education, public services, and business, helping Europe grow its next big wave of innovation.
Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance, said that Bpifrance is proud to help start this important European AI Campus with MGX. He said this project shows France’s excellent science, ability to build advanced technology, and attract top experts. The campus will strengthen France’s control over technology and make France a global leader in AI.
Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, said that the AI Campus is an important step to make France a worldwide leader in AI. By bringing together experts and the best technology across the whole AI process, this project will create a strong and sustainable AI community. It will bring real benefits to companies, public groups, and universities. Mistral AI is happy to help make the campus a center for speeding up AI use, innovation, and leadership in France.
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said the AI Campus will be a groundbreaking facility for France. It will be built in France to support France’s growth in the AI era. This new campus will change science, education, and industries.
Laura Chaubard, Director General of École Polytechnique, a top French university, said that her school is proud to help with the AI Campus by pushing forward research and training future AI leaders. She said the partnership shows a shared goal to encourage international teamwork and strengthen Europe’s ability to create AI that is responsible, powerful, and independent.
Many important partners from government, technology, industry, and schools will support the campus. These partners include Bouygues, a French company known for building and energy projects worldwide; EDF Group, a leader in low-carbon energy and the energy transition; and École Polytechnique, which will help with teaching and research, including funding PhD students and working together with Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in the UAE.
Other partners include RTE, which manages France’s electricity transmission and is working to connect big energy users quickly, and Sipartech, a French company providing fast fiber internet across Europe. Sipartech will help give the campus quick and reliable internet access, working with other partners to build this new AI community.
Construction of the AI Campus is expected to start in the second half of 2026, and the campus should be ready to operate by 2028.
