The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has taken an exciting new step to help people in the community feel more connected and involved. After the successful opening of the first-ever “Nabdh” community hub in the Al Falah area, the DCD has now teamed up with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) to build more of these special hubs in different parts of Abu Dhabi.
These Nabdh hubs are designed to bring people together in friendly and welcoming places. They help everyone feel included, no matter their age or background. Under the new agreement, DMT will help set up more hubs and build modern spaces that everyone can enjoy and benefit from.

His Excellency Eng. Hamad Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Department of Community Development, said this step supports the goals of the “Year of Community.” He shared that the main idea is to create more public places where people can meet, share experiences, and build strong connections. These new hubs will help people feel like they belong and can work together to make their community better.
He also said it’s important to design the hubs carefully so they can serve people of all age groups. For example, the spaces will support young people with special programs, give older people chances to enjoy their time, and offer families many fun and helpful activities to join.
His Excellency Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, also spoke about how this partnership is important. He said that building advanced community spaces is part of a bigger plan to improve life for everyone in Abu Dhabi. These hubs will help make neighborhoods stronger, and they will also help services and facilities work better together.
Dr. Al Nasri explained that by working with DCD, they are able to create high-quality community centers that meet top standards. These hubs will not only look great but will also be safe and useful for everyone. They show Abu Dhabi’s promise to offer excellent places where people can come together and enjoy a better quality of life.
The first Nabdh community hub, already open in Al Falah, has been a big success. It offers over 145 activities, workshops, and events that are fun and useful. These are provided by more than 35 different partners, and they are open to people of all ages. The goal is to make sure everyone in the community has a chance to take part, learn something new, and feel more connected with others around them.
This is just the beginning. With more Nabdh hubs coming soon, the people of Abu Dhabi will have even more chances to be part of something special.
