5 Simple Habits to Stop Weight Gain Before the Year Ends

As the year comes to an end, many people start worrying about weight gain. Festivals, parties, and cold weather often lead to overeating and less movement. Instead of planning to lose many kilos in a short time, experts say it is better to focus on not gaining any extra weight. This small goal is easier and healthier for most people.

Fitness coach Raj Ganpath shared simple advice on his Instagram page. He said that there are only a few weeks left in the year, and this is the best time to take control of your health. His main message was clear: “Do not gain any weight between now and the end of the year.” According to him, this one rule can help you start the new year with more confidence and less stress.

He explained that you don’t need to try extreme diets or heavy workouts right now. You only need to follow five easy actions. These steps can fit into anyone’s daily routine and still make a big difference.

1. Exercise at least 20 times
The coach recommends exercising at least 20 times before the year ends. This means around three to four workouts every week. You can choose any simple activity you enjoy—walking, yoga, stretching, dancing, home workouts, or gym sessions. The goal is to stay active regularly.

He says that six weeks is enough time to build a habit. Even short workouts can help burn calories, reduce stress, and keep your body strong.

2. Add protein to every meal
Protein helps you stay full for longer. It also supports muscle strength and reduces cravings. You can add foods like eggs, paneer, chicken, lentils, tofu, curd, and nuts to your meals. Eating protein in every meal makes it easier to avoid overeating later.

3. Eat more vegetables
Vegetables are low in calories and high in fibre. They keep your stomach full without adding extra weight. The coach suggests filling half your plate with vegetables. This simple trick helps control portion size and improves digestion.

4. Avoid unhealthy food as much as possible
Year-end parties often include fried snacks, sweets, and junk food. Raj Ganpath advises avoiding these items most of the time. You don’t need to cut them out completely. But limiting them will protect you from weight gain and sugar spikes.

5. Stay mindful and track your habits
He also encourages people to stay aware of what they eat and how much they move. Writing down your habits or checking your weight once a week can help you stay on track.

These five habits are easy to follow and don’t require strict dieting. They help you maintain balance during the busiest and most tempting time of the year.

The fitness coach says that finishing the year strong makes it easier to begin the next one with a positive mindset. If you reach January without extra weight, you won’t feel guilty or pressured to start difficult diets.
