The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has started a new round of its "Your Home, Your Responsibility" campaign. The goal of this campaign is to help improve the quality of life for people living in the UAE and to bring the community closer together. This is part of the UAE Year of Community plan.

The campaign wants to stop overcrowding in buildings by encouraging everyone to follow the rules for how many people can live in each building in Abu Dhabi. To make sure the rules are followed, DMT will be doing more inspections. They will take action against anyone who breaks the rules. Property owners and investors are being asked to follow the rules and work together to make sure they meet the standards for renting homes. The campaign also reminds property owners to offer housing for people with low income in approved places.

The campaign is also teaching tenants to be responsible. Tenants should not rent apartments without legal contracts and should make sure the property is registered in the Tawtheeq system. Tenants also need to make sure that their cars are registered in the correct Mawaqif zone.

His Excellency Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary at DMT, said, "Through this campaign, we want to remind everyone about the importance of following the laws. We want to reduce overcrowding and make sure people in Abu Dhabi are safe and healthy."

He also said, "Our goal is to help make people happy and improve the community. We are also working on affordable housing to make Abu Dhabi's real estate market stronger. But we can only reach our goals if everyone works together, including property owners and tenants."

DMT has promised to check properties and take action against those who do not follow the rules. If a property breaks the rules, they will be fined between AED 5,000 to AED 500,000. If someone breaks the rules again, they could be fined up to AED 1 million. If cars are parked illegally in residential areas, they could be taken away.

DMT also said that they can take other actions, like stopping contracts and accounts for people who do not follow the rules. DMT is asking everyone to follow the rules and work together to make sure everything is done correctly. By doing this, they hope to create a better and safer community for everyone.
