The event has three main parts that show the skill and beauty of Arabic calligraphy. The first part, called "Calligraphy in Tantora," will feature a special display made by Sheikha Khawla Bint Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi. She is known for her work that mixes traditional Arabic calligraphy with new, modern ideas. This section will show how Arabic calligraphy can look both old and new at the same time.
The second part is the "Calligraphy Gallery." This part has a solo exhibition by Ghaleb Hawila, a well-known Arabic calligraphy artist. There will also be a group exhibition with many other calligraphy artists. The gallery will show different styles of Arabic calligraphy and how artists are still using this art form today.
The third part, called the "House of Calligraphy," lets visitors see how Arabic calligraphy is used in everyday items. Visitors will be able to see and buy things like beautifully made abayas, stylish furniture, and creative jewelry with Arabic calligraphy designs on them. This part shows how calligraphy is not just for paper but is also used in modern items.
Finally, the festival includes a historic house that has been turned into a special indoor shop. The shop will sell items that mix the history of AlUla with modern art. This part helps visitors experience how history and art come together in AlUla.
The Al Khatt event is a wonderful chance to learn more about Arabic calligraphy and how it has changed over time. It shows both the old traditions of the art and how it is still important and beautiful in today’s world.
