At least 55 passengers were injured after a night train traveling from Moscow to Chelyabinsk derailed in western Russia, causing several carriages to overturn.
The incident occurred near the village of Bryandino in the Ulyanovsk Oblast, located approximately 1,000 kilometers east of Moscow. According to officials, seven train carriages left the tracks during the accident.
Regional governor Aleksey Yuryevich Russkikh confirmed that there were no fatalities. The train was carrying around 415 passengers at the time of the derailment.
Emergency services responded swiftly, and all injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the derailment, and an investigation is currently underway.
Railway officials are working to restore normal operations in the affected area, while ensuring the safety of passengers and infrastructure.
