The Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Health, Khalifa Baqer, shared that the team has created a plan to provide high-quality medical care during the New Year’s Eve festivities. This care will be available both on-site at the events and in the hospitals and clinics. He praised the hard work of the medical teams and highlighted the close cooperation with the Dubai Events Security Committee and other partners, which has been essential for their readiness.
As part of the plan, Dubai Health will have 1,800 medical and administrative staff on duty across six hospitals and four clinics. These facilities will be fully operational to ensure people have access to medical care whenever needed.
The hospitals involved include Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, Latifa Hospital, Jebel Ali Hospital, and Hatta Hospital. The clinics at Nad Al Hamar, Al Barsha, Dubai International Airport, and Al Maktoum International Airport will also be ready to serve patients around the clock.
A special field hospital will be set up near the Burj Khalifa to handle emergencies. This hospital will have eight treatment rooms and teams specializing in emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and pediatrics. Additionally, seven medical stations will be placed in key locations, staffed with emergency specialists to provide immediate care if needed.
Dr. Sara Kazim, the Chair of Emergency Medicine at Dubai Health, explained that all emergency departments in their hospitals are fully prepared to handle urgent cases. She said that the emergency departments are equipped with all the necessary medical supplies, and they have increased the number of on-call doctors by 20%. The team is also working closely with Dubai Ambulance for rapid response and has added more treatment rooms to handle the expected increase in patients. She thanked the medical staff for their dedication and readiness to support the community during this large event.
To ensure everyone feels included, Dubai Health will have multilingual teams that can communicate in 13 different languages, including Arabic, English, French, Chinese, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Italian, Korean, German, Swahili, and even sign language.
For patient transport, 20 vehicles will be on standby to take recovered patients home or back to the event locations. Additionally, Dubai Health is offering homecare and telemedicine services, allowing people to get expert medical help from their homes. These services can be accessed by calling 80060.
With these preparations, Dubai Health is ensuring a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve for everyone in the city.
