The race happened on Sunday, starting from Dubai Design District (D3). Cyclists rode a long 101 km route, passing through Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) before reaching Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street (D54). The final part of the race was tough, as riders gave their best to win.
An 18-year-old UAE resident from Syria, Ibrahiem Alrefai, made a strong push in the last moments and won first place. He finished the race at Expo Village Park in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 24 seconds.
Ivan Kormshchikov came in second, and Danil Konotop took third place. The race was exciting, with cyclists pushing hard to reach the top.
L’Étape Dubai is part of the L’Étape by Tour de France series, which lets regular cyclists experience a race like the famous Tour de France. This event gave riders a chance to compete on a big stage while enjoying Dubai’s beautiful roads.
The huge success of the first L’Étape Dubai means there will likely be more races in the future. This will help more people take up cycling and make UAE an important place for the sport.
