Dubai, United Arab Emirates :- Dubai is ready to welcome the world’s biggest names in sports as the World Sports Summit (WSS) is officially announced. The global sports event will be held on December 29 and 30, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.
The Summit is being organized under the directions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The event is supervised by the Dubai Sports Council.
The World Sports Summit will be held under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sports” and supports the goals of the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033. The Summit aims to bring people together, share ideas and help shape the future of sports at a global level.
This two-day event will be the largest international sports gathering ever held in the region. It will bring together sports stars, global leaders, decision-makers, investors, innovators, experts and representatives from international sports organizations on one platform.
More than 70 global speakers will take part in the Summit. These include famous athletes, sports legends and leaders who have made a strong impact both in sports and in society. Some of the well-known names attending include Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Ronaldo Nazario, Paolo Maldini, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Manny Pacquiao, Reggie Bush, Ons Jabeur, and Nick Santonastasso, along with many other international sports personalities.
Speaking at the press conference, H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, said that hosting the World Sports Summit reflects Dubai’s long-term vision to become a global leader in sports innovation and development. He explained that sports today play an important role in economic growth, health, and building strong communities.
He added that the Summit supports the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, led by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. The plan focuses on attracting sports talent, hosting major global events and strengthening Dubai’s position among the world’s top sports cities.
H.E. Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, said that Dubai’s success in sports is the result of years of planning, investment, partnerships and strong organization. He explained that the World Sports Summit is not just an event but a platform where Dubai moves from hosting sports events to leading global sports discussions.
Alongside the Summit, Dubai will also host the 13th edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The award honors individuals, organizations and initiatives that have made a positive impact in sports around the world.
The Summit will include more than 20 main sessions focusing on important topics such as the future of sports, the role of sports stars beyond the field, the impact of technology and artificial intelligence, sports diplomacy, governance, youth engagement, digital media, women’s empowerment and investment in sports.
Special attention will be given to young people, with discussions on fan engagement, digital content and how sports events can leave a long-term positive impact on society and the economy.
Essa Sharif Al Marzouqi, President of the World Sports Summit, said the event is designed to go beyond a normal conference. It will create space for open discussion, partnerships and shared learning across different sports and cultures.
The World Sports Summit 2025 confirms Dubai’s position as a global hub for sports leadership and innovation, truly living up to its theme — “Uniting the World Through Sports.”
