In a tragic development, TP Singh, a post office superintendent in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly took his own life in his home district of Aligarh. The incident occurred after Singh returned to his residence on Wednesday following several hours of questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Singh's death came in the wake of a CBI raid related to a corruption investigation at the Bulandshahr post office, where he had been stationed since 2021. Following the raid, Singh sent a suicide note via WhatsApp to several groups he was part of, detailing his grievances and attributing his actions to the harassment he faced from his colleagues.
In the letter, dated August 21, 2024, Singh expressed that he had been subjected to constant pressure and harassment by multiple office colleagues. He directly named several individuals, claiming that the relentless pressure and complaints from these colleagues drove him to his final decision. The letter was addressed to the Aligarh police chief and outlined the intense work environment that he said contributed to his decision.

The CBI's raid on the Bulandshahr post office on Wednesday evening involved extensive questioning of several employees and the seizure of crucial documents related to the ongoing investigation. The raid, which lasted several hours, was part of a broader probe into corruption within the postal department.
Singh, who had been under scrutiny during the investigation, was interrogated by the CBI until the early hours of the morning. Reports suggest that Singh's suicide letter was circulated widely on social media, further escalating the situation.
The CBI's investigation and Singh's subsequent death have raised serious concerns about workplace pressures and the impact of such stress on individuals. The case continues to develop as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding Singh's tragic end.
