Under the directives of the UAE leadership, the inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing Cup is set to launch this Thursday in Kuwait, marking a significant milestone for the fast-growing sport. The championship will run from 4 to 7 December, bringing together leading falconers from the region for an event designed to elevate falcon racing onto the international stage.
The tournament is organised as part of the UAE Falcons Federation’s long-term strategy to expand falconry as a structured global sport. As one of the founding members of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, the UAE has been working to shift falconry from a traditional heritage practice into a modern, competitive discipline recognised worldwide.
In preparation for the event, the organising teams have completed all technical and logistical stages. Championship regulations were published across official platforms, a digital registration app was launched for participants, and the full programme for the opening ceremony and accompanying activities has been finalised.
The UAE Federation highlighted that the first edition in Kuwait sets the tone for future international rotations of the championship among member countries, based on established criteria. The host nation’s participation has also been encouraged, giving Kuwaiti falconers the chance to compete in a world-class environment and contribute to the sport’s growing momentum.
The Emirates Falcon Racing Cup will feature seven races in the Farkh category, including four main rounds, one Hur round, and one Shaheen round for farm-bred falcons. The event will conclude with the Cup Race, where the top five falcons from each main round compete for the title. Categories include Pure Jeer, Jeer–Shaheen, Qarmousha, and Jeer–Taba’. A total prize fund of AED 500,000 has been allocated for the winners.
With preparations complete and strong cooperation from Kuwait’s teams and committees, the championship is positioned for an impressive debut. The event aims to strengthen the UAE’s role in promoting falcon racing globally while preserving the sport’s heritage for future generations.
