UAE Weather Alert: Extensive fog shrouds the country, prompting a red alert.

Early Saturday morning, a thick blanket of fog enveloped the country following the National Centre of Meteorology's (NCM) forecast of lower temperatures and heavy rains for the upcoming week.

A red alert has been issued by the NCM nationwide, cautioning residents about the dense fog. The advisory indicates, "A chance of fog formation with a deterioration in horizontal visibility, which may drop even further at times." Sheikh Zayed Road experienced reduced visibility due to the dense fog this morning, with message boards advising motorists to "reduce speed" and "use fog lights." Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lakes Towers were also immersed in the fog, resembling clouds descending on the high-rise buildings in the area. Abu Dhabi Police issued multiple advisories and reduced the speed limit on several roads to encourage safer driving. In today's forecast, the National Centre of Meteorology predicts a fair to partly cloudy day, becoming cloudy at night in some coastal and northern areas.

Light to moderate winds are expected. There is a possibility of light rainfall on Sunday morning.

Temperatures are expected to rise today, reaching as high as 30ºC in the country, with mercury rising to 29ºC in Abu Dhabi and 28ºC in Dubai.

However, temperatures could drop to 20ºC in Abu Dhabi, 19ºC in Dubai, and 7ºC in mountainous regions.

Humidity levels will vary from 35 to 75 per cent in Abu Dhabi and from 55 to 90 per cent in Dubai.

At sea, conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
